The Elegant Cory is a peaceful, social freshwater fish with a metallic, pearl-colored body and an intricate pattern of spots and dashes. It has a slightly higher-set mouth than other corys, and often spends time mid-water. This species is native to the Amazon basin and thrives in groups of at least 4–6, ideally in a planted aquarium with soft sand substrate and clean, soft water
