Bucktooth Tetras (Exodon Paradoxus)

Bucktooth Tetras (Exodon Paradoxus)

$6.95

The Bucktooth Tetra (Exodon paradoxus) is an aggressive, scale-eating fish that grows up to 4.7 inches, known for its shimmering, silvery-tan body with a red dorsal fin and two distinct black spots. Despite its name, it does not have buck teeth; its sharp teeth are specialized for ripping off the scales of other fish, making it unsuitable for most community tanks and best kept in groups of eight or more in a species-specific setup. These fish are hardy and active, native to the Amazon and Orinoco basins, and can live over ten years if housed properly.
